AI Use Policy
Purpose of the policy
The use of generative artifical intelligence (AI) tools in education offers new opportunities for enhancing learning, creativity, and efficiency. However, these tools also present challenges around academic honesty, bias, and privacy. This policy ensures that generative AI is used in a way that supports our educational goals while maintaining ethical standards.
Scope
This policy applies to all students, teachers, administrative staff, and support personnel at Leafville school district. It covers the use of generative AI tools in all educational contexts, including classroom instruction, homework, research projects, and administrative tasks.
Generative AI
Generative AI refers to technologies that can create content such as text, images, audio, code, or video based on prompts or inputs. examples include ChatGPT, DALL-E, and similar tools.

Integrity and Honesty
Students and staff must be honest about the use of AI in their work. AI-generated content should be clearly labeled, and sources or tools used must be cited.
Equality and Accessibility
All students should have fair access to AI tools. When possible, the school will provide access to AI resources during school hours to bridge gaps in home access.
Privacy and Security
AI tools should not be used in ways that compromise personal data. staff and students must avoid inputting sensitive or identifying information into AI systems unless approved and secure.

Workshops and class sessions will be held to lelp students and staff understand how to use generative AI ethically and Effectively. Training will focus on practical skilla and awareness of AI’s limitations

Technical help can be requested through the school’s IT coordinator or designated support staff. While resources are limmited, we aim to provide guidance within our means.
Policy Review Schedule
This policy will be reviewed annualy by the school leadership team with input from teachers and students. Updates will reflect technological advances and changes in educational practice.
Feedback Mechanism
Students, Teachers, and parents can provide feedback on this policy by submiting comments to the school office or during schedueled school boaed meetings. All input will be considered in the annual review.
